Terms of Service

Last updated: September 30, 2026

These terms govern your use of Mise Portal ("Mise", "we"), the client portal for creative studios at miseportal.com. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. Questions go to support@miseportal.com.

1. The service

Mise gives studios a private workspace per client: project management, a file vault that stays locked until the client pays, milestone invoicing, and a client-facing portal. We may add, change, or remove features as the product evolves.

2. Accounts

You must provide accurate information when signing up, keep your credentials confidential, and be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live). You are responsible for everything done through your account, including access you grant to your clients and team.

3. Plans and billing

Mise is sold as a monthly subscription — Solo, Studio, and White-Label tiers as shown on our pricing page. Subscriptions are billed in advance through Stripe and renew each month until you cancel. Promotional or founding rates apply exactly as shown at checkout. Fees are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise.

4. Take rate on client payments

Mise takes a percentage of each client payment processed through the portal — currently 3% on Solo and Studio plans and 2% on White-Label — collected automatically via Stripe Connect at the time of payment. If the rate ever changes, existing studios keep their current rate for at least the notice period we announce.

5. Client payments and payouts

Studios accept client payments through their own Stripe Connect account. You are responsible for your tax, accounting, and legal obligations on money you collect, and for delivering the work your clients paid for. Mise processes the payment flow; the commercial relationship is between you and your client.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Mise to:

  • Break the law or infringe anyone's rights.
  • Upload malware or anything designed to harm systems or data.
  • Abuse the service — including attempts to access other studios' workspaces.
  • Store content wildly beyond your plan's storage allowance.

We may suspend accounts that violate these terms or threaten the security of the platform.

7. Your content

You own everything you and your clients put into Mise. By using the service you grant us the limited license we need to host, process, and display that content to operate the portal — nothing more. We claim no ownership over your work.

8. White-label

White-Label plans can hide Mise branding on client-facing pages. Hiding the branding changes presentation only — it does not transfer any rights in Mise itself.

9. Cancellation

Cancel anytime from your billing settings. You keep access until the end of the current billing period. After cancellation your workspaces become read-only for a grace period so you can export your files, then they are deleted per our Privacy Policy.

10. Disclaimers and liability

Mise is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including lost profits or lost data, even if we were advised of the possibility.

11. License grant

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to access and use Mise as a service during your subscription. The software is licensed, not sold. You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, modify, resell, sublicense, or use automated tools to scrape the platform.

12. Our intellectual property

All source code, software architecture, branding, trademarks, custom UI elements, and other intellectual property in Mise remain our exclusive property. Nothing in these terms transfers any ownership interest to you.

13. Aggregate data

You retain ownership of your proprietary content. We may collect anonymized, aggregated usage telemetry — stripped of anything that identifies you or your clients — to operate, benchmark, and improve the service.

14. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Hawaii. Disputes will be resolved by binding arbitration in Honolulu, Hawaii, under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, rather than in court — except that either party may seek injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction. You waive any right to participate in a class action, class arbitration, or other representative proceeding against us.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product grows. Material changes will be posted here with a new "last updated" date, and continued use of Mise after they take effect means you accept them.
